You may remember a couple of years ago, I did a Friday Photo on the Grand’s exterior. Well, this week I had the opportunity to go inside the Grand Hotel’s Grosvenor Room, which is a stunning and ornate ball room with the most ornate ceiling I’ve ever seen. The building is a Victorian, Grade II* building dating back to 1879. Internal and external work to the building has been taking place for the last six years. The shell and core works will be completed in November, with the building being handed over to the hotelier, initiating the next phase of the Grand’s development and refurbishment. The building will open once more as a luxury hotel in around two years, this time fit for a twenty-first century audience.
