City Of BirminghamThis week’s photo is not of a building, but of one of the most popular exhibits on display at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum- The City of Birmingham Locomotive. Many people who visit often have memories of the locomotive at the old science museum on Newhall Street, and always fondly share their stories about it. Also known as the LMS Princess Coronation Class 6235 City of Birmingham, it was actually built in Crewe in 1939 and was officially named at Birmingham New Street in March 1945. You can see the Locomotive on display on Level 0 at Thinktank in the ‘Move It’ gallery, so why not take up their offer of £3 after 3.00pm and see it for yourself!
