Cambrian Wharf and Farmer's Bridge Top Lock

Cambrian Wharf and Farmer’s Bridge Top Lock

Today’s Friday photo, taken on what was a beautiful sunny day in Brum, is a view of Farmer’s Bridge Top Lock  and Cambrian Wharf, which links onto the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal joins the Coventry Canal at Fazeley Junction, a distance of fifteen miles, with thirty-eight locks, including the  Farmer’s Bridge flight, the Aston flight, the Minworth flight and the Curdworth flight.   The Farmer’s Bridge flight, of which the top lock is pictured, drops the water level by 25 metres.  Cambrian Wharf is a popular spot for boat moorings and is also home to the Canal and River Trust and The Flapper Pub.
