Shopping online this Christmas? Support BCT through Spend & Raise
I know its only October but I’m going to mention the ‘C’ word, well it is only 65 days until Christmas! No doubt many of you will be getting yourselves organised and will be starting (if not already!) your Christmas shopping. I wouldn’t say I was a last minute shopper but to reduce the seasonal stress and hassle of battling through the crowds, the long queues and then the task of carrying everything back I prefer shopping online from the comfort of my own home.
You are no doubt wondering where I’m going with this and what the connection with shopping and BCT is? Well quite simply you can raise money for BCT while you shop online through Spend and Raise!
How it works:
1. Select Spend and Raise from the BCT homepage
2. Start shopping through the retailers listed (there are loads of top retailers to choose from including Amazon, M&S, Waterstones and Debenhams…plus many more)
3. Birmingham Conservation Trust will receive a small percentage of what you buy
It’s simple as that!
What’s the catch?
There is no catch, the price of your purchases remain the same. Its just a case of every time you shop a commission is generated and given to Birmingham Conservation Trust.
Does it work?
Last year I signed up to Spend and Raise (signing up is optional) mainly out of curiosity to see how much I was actually raising while shopping online. To my surprise I have raised nearly £70 by just simply buying gifts for Christmas, birthdays and indulging on the odd gift or two for myself!
Even if some of your purchases would result in only a few pennies going to BCT and you may think it wouldn’t be worth it, well all those pennies add up and as Tesco say ‘every little helps.’
