The Friday Photo: Elizabeth Ghost Signs
This weeks the Friday photo is of this ghost sign – Elizabeth which was taken in Sparkhill, Birmingham. Ghost signs are old advertising signs that were usually painted on by hand. I found an online archive of ghost signs here although not many for Brum. This sign looks pretty out of place now on this street and unless you look up you may never notice it down the side of this shop. It is in amazing condition. Let me know if you know of anymore would like to do a blog about ghost signs for the BCT?
I lived on Esme Rd and my mom and Grandma used to take me to Elizabeth’s for clothes items it was a really lovely shop! What a memory
