Helga Henry tour

In the evening of Friday 28 June, family and friends of Helga Henry had a private tour of the Coffin Works.

Helga won the tour because she was one of 64 people who responded to our questionnaire about setting up a Birmingham Conservation Trust Supporters Group; the names of all the respondents were put into a hat and Helga was the lucky winner.

For a couple of months now, the BCT has been preparing to launch a Supporters Group, to strengthen the organisation and give more weight to our voice.  Volunteer Jahyun Jang, on a work placement from Warwick University, has been undertaking research for us – what would supporters want from such a group, what is the right level for membership fees?  As part of this research a questionnaire was sent out to all those who have recently had a tour of the Coffin Works, with a prize of a free tour of the factory for a group of up to 15 people being an incentive for people to take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Jahyun has now completed his research (the respondents to his questionnaires and interviews were overwhelmingly positive) and we will be launching our  Supporters Group soon so, as they say,  ‘watch this space’.

Helga and her friends were perhaps the last group to experience the Coffin Works before the restoration work begins, and the last to have the chance to view the whole of the factory.
