New Futures for Birmingham`s Historic Buildings

The Friday Photo

Posted March 22nd, 2013 by Tracey Thorne with 2 Comments

St Patricks Day

This week’s Friday photo is a bit different; not about buildings and more about our cultural heritage in Birmingham.  The photography is a view  of a family enjoying last Sunday’s St Patrick’s Day in Digbeth. The annual festival was started in 1996. You can just see the oldest pub in Birmingham in the background – The Old Crown established 1368.

Great photo Tracey!…..could you get one of the JFK Mosaic which the Birmingham Irish Community presented to the City of Birmingham in the 1960’s and stood in the St Chad’s Subway for many years and has recently been placed elsewhere in the City Centre……I am not sure where it is in Brum……?
