Fiona Dye, the Learning Projects Manager for the BBC in the West MIdlands is urgently looking for some volunteers to support a BBC live event coming to Sandwell Valley Country  Park on the 28th/29th of July. They have been searching for volunteers for some time, but are still low on numbers – they need 30 for each of the two days!  Can you help?

Volunteer FOR THE CBEEBIES GET SET, GROW TOUR!

The Mr Bloom’s Nursery Get Set, Grow! Tour is hitting the road in July and August 2012.  The tour will visit five UK locations and it’s a unique opportunity for CBeebies fans and their families to get up close and personal with one of their favourite programmes.

Mr Bloom’s Nursery is a popular CBeebies series where children learn from the experience of nurturing vegetables; Mr Bloom and his team of young helpers (‘Tiddlers’) tend to the plants and produce in the allotment. Join our Team

BBC Learning is looking to recruit a team of cheerful, enthusiastic event volunteers, keen to get involved and support the main event team.  Volunteers must be aged 18 or over. Roles on the day will include collecting tickets, stewarding, managing queues and answering queries from the public. You are likely to be on your feet for most of the day.

You will gain valuable experience helping out on a large-scale event and meet a diverse CBeebies audience. If you would like to volunteer please request an application form – email mrbloomsnursery@bbc.co.uk

Timing – All volunteers helping at the event will need to be on site early in the morning for a safety briefing and be able to work all day (exact times to be confirmed).  Where events are in a location for 2 days you can volunteer for one or both of the days.

Expenses – The BBC cannot pay you to volunteer at the event, however we can reimburse you for ‘out of pocket’ expenses. This includes reasonable local travelling expenses (a return bus/tube/tram/rail fare) and lunch will be provided on the day. We cannot pay mileage or petrol. We can pay for reasonable parking expenses on production of a receipt.
