Birmingham Central Library – English Heritage

Birmingham Central Library is one of the most talked about 20th Century buildings which has developed a love / hate debate since its opening.

The Friends of the Central Library are calling upon Birmingham City Council to reverse its decision to demolish architect John Madin’s iconic and unique building. They have set up an e-petition in order for new uses to be explored for the Central Library and ask them to consider the financial, social, environmental and cultural advantages to the city and region of retaining the building for the public benefit.

The e-petition closes Sunday 15th July, if you ‘love’ the building show your support and sign the e-petition.

A Twitter account has been created by the Friends of the Central Library @ keeptheziggurat sharing loads of useful links, photos and background information.
