The Handsworth Heritage Trail was introduced last month and showcases the historic buildings across Handsworth and provides an ideal opportunity to promote Handsworth to local people as well as attracting new visitors to the area.

The heritage trail emerged when Tracey Thorne (Handsworth Neighbourhood Manager) discovered that many local people had not visited local heritage sites such as Soho House and Museum.

The trail route takes in historical sites such as Soho House, the home of the famous industrialist Mathew Boulton, Handsworth Park created in the 1800s and Grove Lane Baths. The trail also gives the opportunity to view the faith buildings around Handsworth including St Michaels Church, designed by the architect William Bourne and Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha.
