This weeks the Friday is another one of Birmingham’s fantastic old ghost advertising signs. This one was taken in Witton and features this little Miss Barber sign which was a popular character to advertise tea here in the West Midlands.

I drive past this every day and I think back to when it was first painted. There is another one like this painted a bit further down Aston church lane. Great photo.

My maternal uncle Joseph Skidmore was one of the painters of Little Mis Barber. He started painting them as far as I can remember, in the 1950’s. He was not the last person to paint her.
        Regards.
        David.
