I survived the mud, freezing water and obstacles to raise money for BCT

Last Saturday I took part in an army style assault course ‘Major Series’ organised by British Military Fitness at Weston Park to raise some money for Birmingham Conservation Trust. It involved mud, smoke, water, obstacles, dirt, hills and more mud.

It was a lot harder than I had imagined. I don’t think I was fully prepared for what I had let myself in for. It was an exceptionally cold morning and it didn’t get much warmer with the first obstacle involving running through ice cold water. I was then directed through woodland, up and down steep hills, crawled through mud beneath barbed wire, more climbing over things and crawling through more mud. There was definitely no shortage of obstacles that day I tackled a spiders web, hula hoops, Harry’s Hill’s (without a doubt the most toughest challenge of the day!), diving onto a slide whilst having buckets of water thrown at me, ran through muddy trenches and the last obstacle wading through muddy water waist deep.

Although it was challenging it was fun at the same time and I raised £325.50 for Birmingham Conservation Trust.

A big thank you for everyone who has donated and supported me!
